While more firms cite AI as they cut staff, others are hiring to deploy and run generative AI and expand its internal use. New postings include AI communications, on-site engineers, internal AI rollout roles, ethics and safety positions for philosophers, gig-style training work, vibe-coding jobs and executive posts such as chief AI officer.

Palo Alto Networks introduced its Frontier AI Defense initiative, saying AI-driven cyber threats have entered a new phase after testing frontier models. The company said three weeks of AI-assisted analysis matched a year of manual penetration testing. It also flagged exploit chaining that links low-risk flaws into critical attack paths and said AI-assisted attacks cut the time from initial access to data theft to 25 minutes. It warned most organisations lack visibility into employee-created code as local AI agents spread.

OpenAI offers token awards to big API users, steps up developer push
OpenAI has launched a strategy to lock in developers by giving physical awards to companies that use large volumes of its API tokens. The Tokens of Appreciation program offers three tiers based on cumulative usage. In South Korea, Danggeun received a black token and Platyter received a silver token. OpenAI Korea said the goal is to draw developer communities into its ecosystem. The company is also expanding partnerships to spread Codex.
