Samsung SDS on Tuesday held its enterprise AX conference, REAL Summit 2026, at the COEX Convention Center in Seoul and unveiled its enterprise AI strategy based on a “multi-dimensional AI full stack” strategy.

At the event, Samsung SDS presented an execution strategy and roadmap aimed at narrowing the gap between adopting AI and generating real business results.

In a keynote speech, Samsung SDS CEO Lee Jun-hee (이준희) said, “AX is a far more fundamental change than simply introducing AI to cut time and costs.” He said, “AX is completely redesigning business and work methods themselves from the beginning.”

He also said companies that achieve AX move before customers speak and respond in real time rather than analysing the market and then reacting. He stressed, “AI changes work, but AX changes business.”

Lee cited data from global market research firm McKinsey, saying 88 percent of companies have adopted AI in at least 1 task, but only 6 percent said AI is making a meaningful contribution to corporate profits. He said there remains a gap between AI adoption and generating business results.

He presented 7 key elements for successful AX: redesigning processes to fit how AI and people collaborate (Process Re-Design); preparing data in a form AI can use (AI-Ready Data); an efficient operating system for multiple AI agents (Agent Ops); setting and controlling policies for AI behaviour (AI Governance); AI security (AI Security); an AI-friendly organisation (AI Organization); and changes in corporate culture (People & Culture).

Samsung SDS is pursuing a “Client Zero” strategy that applies these AX key elements to internal work first and verifies results.

The core approach is to continuously verify AX results in real work environments across 7 mega internal processes, including development, procurement, quality, management support, project delivery, marketing and sales, and apply the know-how accumulated in the process to customer sites.

Samsung SDS is also strengthening its on-site “FDE (Forward Deployed Engineer)” capabilities to immediately solve problems and drive results at customer sites.

Based on cooperation with OpenAI, Anthropic and Accenture, Samsung SDS plans to expand its AX-specialised FDE workforce to about 200 people within this year to jointly solve business problems at customer sites and deliver AX results.

At this REAL Summit, Samsung SDS also stressed a strategy to provide customer-specific AX through its “multi-dimensional AI full stack.” According to the company, Samsung SDS’ multi-dimensional AI full stack focuses on combining AI infrastructure, an AI platform and AI solutions with end-to-end capabilities spanning consulting, development, deployment and operations, along with industry expertise accumulated across various sectors.

Samsung SDS said it aims to go beyond providing AI technology to diagnosing customer business issues and applying technology and solutions suited to each company’s situation, linking them to real AX results. Lee said, “A true AI full stack must provide not only consulting to support AX execution but also professional capabilities in development, deployment and operations, and that is possible only when backed by an accurate understanding of the customer’s business.”

Samsung SDS is also expanding cooperation with global frontier AI companies. It is working with OpenAI, Anthropic, Google Cloud, Nvidia and Accenture to build a global AI ecosystem spanning AI models, platforms, infrastructure, solutions and security. In July, Samsung SDS signed a strategic partnership with Anthropic in San Francisco to support AX for South Korean companies, the first such deal by a South Korean company. It will move to jointly identify new AX business opportunities by combining the two companies’ technical strengths and business know-how.

Samsung SDS also said it is joining as a pilot partner in OpenAI’s “Daybreak Partner Program,” an initiative OpenAI is running to strengthen security using its models, after providing consulting to multiple customers on adopting ChatGPT Enterprise based on a partner contract with OpenAI.

Based on participation as a Daybreak pilot partner, Samsung SDS will use OpenAI’s next-generation frontier models early to provide broad AI security services, from automated detection of security vulnerabilities at customers to validation and provision of patch solutions.

Samsung SDS professional FDEs and security experts plan to implement the services directly at customer sites.

Samsung SDS also officially declared its entry into RX (Robotics Transformation) at the event.

It also unveiled a roadmap to expand the scope of AX from digital into physical manufacturing sites in earnest.

According to the company, Samsung SDS is focusing on developing technologies that use robots for manufacturing automation and enable efficient operation of the entire production process, based on various project experience in manufacturing sites.

Samsung SDS said it is verifying the transition of manual work at real manufacturing sites through combinations of robot hardware and physical AI, and plans to roll out a “robot orchestration platform” in earnest from 2027 to operate production facilities and robots as one connected system. It also said it signed a strategic partnership with global humanoid robotics specialist Walden Robotics and is expanding cooperation with global partners in physical AI to automate various manual tasks at manufacturing sites.

OpenAI Korea head Kim Kyung-hoon (김경훈) and Anthropic Korea head Choi Ki-young (최기영) also took the stage to share partnership and synergy strategies with Samsung SDS. In a video message, OpenAI CEO Sam Altman said, “Samsung SDS is a global top-tier partner with capabilities to deeply understand how enterprises actually run their business and successfully introduce new technologies.” He said AI agents that have already begun being introduced at enterprise sites are having a tangible and positive impact on productivity and that the change will accelerate further. He added, “Together with Samsung SDS, we will build the future so that South Korean companies with technical talent and infrastructure, strong government support and a dynamic ecosystem can lead the next chapter of global AI.”
