Hugging Face\'s Microduck AI duck robot sells over 10,000 units
Microduck, a small bipedal robot introduced by Pollen Robotics, Hugging Face\'s French robotics unit, has sold more than 10,000 units shortly after launch. The duck-shaped robot is priced at $399, taking orders of more than $4 million. It combines Chinese-made semiconductors with open-source software and offers tools that let users train new motions in simulation and apply them to the physical robot, though its hardware design files are not open source.

LG Uplus to build AIoT predictive maintenance system at district energy facilities
LG Uplus will work with Korea District Heating Corp to upgrade safety management at district energy facilities using AIoT technology that combines AI and IoT. The companies signed an MOU in Seoul to build a predictive maintenance system that detects risks in real time and forecasts and responds to potential accidents. They will test early detection of ground subsidence, monitoring of stray current in heat transport pipes, and stronger physical security and monitoring at high-risk facilities.

KT to co-develop NPU-based AI edge box with DeepX and Sesol
KT is partnering with AI chipmaker DeepX and transportation and commercial vehicle device company Sesol to target the on-device AI market based on neural processing units. The three companies signed a memorandum of understanding to cooperate on an NPU-based on-device AIoT business. They will jointly develop a next-generation AI edge box with a low-power, low-heat NPU and apply it to sites requiring real-time video analysis.
