Wrtn Crack to cap teens\' daily use at 3 hours, monthly spending at 100,000 won
Wrtn Technologies said on Tuesday it will introduce caps on teenagers’ daily usage time and monthly payments for its AI character chat service, Crack. The company plans to limit teen use to a maximum of 3 hours a day, requiring guardian verification and consent to exceed that. It will also apply a 100,000 won cap on monthly payments, with the same parental approval needed for higher spending.

Minors make up big share of users of AI character chat apps, raising protection challenges
Most users of South Korean AI character chat service Zeta are teenagers or younger, while Crack also has nearly half of its users in that age group, MobileIndex data showed. Operators say they separate adult content and apply identity checks, but questions remain about keeping conversations safe in general content. A National Assembly research report warned that constant access and ongoing interaction could worsen emotional dependence and excessive immersion among children and adolescents.

Bunker Kids raises 15 billion won Series A to expand AI character chat Whif
Bunker Kids, the operator of AI character chat service Whif, said on Monday it raised 15 billion won in a Series A round. Investors included Kolon Investment, Kakao Ventures and Mirae Asset Capital, among others. The company said Whif users spend an average of 217 minutes a day. It said about 40 percent of revenue comes from overseas and it aims to lift that share to more than 60 percent by year-end.
