Anthropic CEO says AGI still far off, regulation and accountability must come first

Dario Amodei (다리오 아모데이), chief executive of Anthropic, warned that AI surpassing humans could bring transcendent power while it remains unclear whether society is ready to handle it. In an essay written early this year, he said highly advanced AI could raise limits of control and understanding. He stressed resetting conditions for development, prioritising responsible AI within democracies and erecting obstacles to authoritarian or hostile states developing their own AI.

Arm says agent AI could more than quadruple datacentre CPU core demand

Arm CEO Rene Haas said the spread of agent AI is lifting datacentre CPU demand faster than Arm expected. Speaking at a Computex keynote, he said the number of CPU cores needed in datacentres could rise to more than four times the current level under the same power conditions. Haas said agent AI shifts workloads such as token management and execution to CPUs. Arm has entered the AI datacentre CPU market with its Arm AGI CPU.

MSIT says it has laid groundwork for South Korea to become a top 3 AI power

South Korea\'s Ministry of Science and ICT said it has laid the groundwork for the country to become one of the world’s top three AI powers over the past year, alongside restoring the R&D ecosystem and guaranteeing basic communications rights. It said it is pushing plans to secure 260,000 advanced GPUs by 2030 and has introduced AI-related laws. The ministry also plans to roll out “AI for Everyone” starting as early as November, aiming to keep it free through 2028.
