AI adds new variable to Bitcoin\'s post-quantum shift after Anthropic research sparks security debate
Artificial intelligence has emerged as a new variable in talks on moving Bitcoin to quantum-resistant security, after an Anthropic frontier AI model found a new way to attack a weakened version of AES. Anthropic said the AI-made method sped up cracking by 200 to 1,000 times and also devised an improved attack on the post-quantum signature scheme HAWK. Researchers and industry figures say the work does not pose an immediate threat but highlights the need to assess AI-driven cryptanalysis alongside quantum risks.

Ransomware targeting AI models emerges, encrypting training weights and raising recovery cost concerns
U.S. security firm Sysdig said the same attacker breached an internet-exposed Langflow server twice, using AI-focused ransomware called ENCFORGE in the second attack. The intrusions exploited a Langflow authentication bypass flaw to run arbitrary Python code and later evolved to encrypt AI assets. ENCFORGE selectively encrypts model checkpoints, vector indexes and training data. Sysdig estimated rebuilding a fine-tuned production model could cost $75,000 to $500,000.

BYD overtakes Tesla to top global BESS market in 2025
BYD ranked first in the global battery energy storage system (BESS) market in 2025, overtaking Tesla, according to a tally cited by Electrek. BYD held a 13 percent market share versus Tesla’s 10 percent. BYD shipped more than 60 GWh during the year, while Tesla deployed 46.7 GWh. Chinese companies dominated the top ranks, and global installations rose to about 315 GWh, up 51 percent from a year earlier.
