SKT steps up scale-up of proprietary AI to multimodal and agents
SK Telecom has passed a second-stage evaluation of the government’s project for a proprietary AI foundation model. The assessment reflected industrial applicability and impact on South Korea’s AI ecosystem. SKT plans to expand its technology scope in the next evaluation to models with up to trillion-level parameters and to multimodal and AI agent areas. It has developed the A.X K1 and expanded to A.X K2, and it is building derived vision and speech models and applying them in manufacturing and defence.

SKT\'s independent AI foundation model consortium joined by SK AX and Technomatrix
SK Telecom said SK AX and Technomatrix have joined its consortium for the government’s independent AI foundation model project. SK AX will focus on identifying and validating business-to-business AI transformation cases and building systems to spread adoption across industries. Technomatrix will support industrial deployment of the independent AI model and ongoing performance improvements. SKT said it has built the A.X K2 foundation model and plans to expand applications across industries and services.

SKT steps up AX Innovation 2.0 drive to boost work efficiency with AI
SK Telecom will build an organisational system in which people and AI work together by giving AI agents employee ID numbers as well as affiliations, duties and authority. The company said it will implement AX Innovation 2.0 to create a work environment that lets employees focus on AI transformation. It will define AI as a new working entity, manage agents with procedures similar to employees and set governance for data and security access.
