SK Telecom is speeding up innovation in AI transformation, or AX, with an AI agent service that learns employees’ working methods directly and uses them.
SKT said on May 28 it has applied the beta version of A.Dot Biz Cowork (A.Biz Cowork) internally to begin full-scale AX innovation. It also plans to update AXMS (AX Management System), which integrates and manages companywide AX tasks, to version 1.5 and make the AX Challenge a regular event.
A.Dot Biz Cowork is an AI agent that can draw up its own execution plan for complex work requests and carry out code writing and result verification. It can produce the desired outcome without development knowledge, and work methods learned once can be repeated to improve efficiency.
While existing AI tools were at the level of answering questions, Cowork automates employees’ work routines themselves. For example, if a legal staff member teaches it contract review standards once, the AI organises review results using the same standards each time a new contract arrives. It can also read dozens of specifications or proposals, extract only the required conditions and create comparison tables. It supports integration with in-house collaboration tools such as Outlook and Teams.
SKT updated its companywide AX management platform AXMS to version 1.5 to manage employees’ AI transformation activities. AXMS is a platform that helps the AI Board, an AX change management organisation, check and manage companywide AX tasks on a single dashboard. Key features of AXMS 1.5 include an AX task dashboard, task registration and management, an AX hub, an AX library and a task support system. An SKT official said the update strengthened the registration and management system for companywide AX tasks and expanded support functions so employees can develop ideas into actual tasks and carry them out. It also added functions such as AI tool recommendations, links to training and practice programmes, and sharing of AX outputs.
SKT recently successfully completed its in-house hackathon, the AX Challenge. Services developed at the hackathon will later be registered as official tasks through AXMS and, after development, be expanded to companywide work sites.
Hyun-sang Yoon (윤현상), head of A.Dot planning at SKT, said AI use is developing beyond receiving answers to questions to a stage of teaching work methods to AI. He said the company will innovate the way people work by creating an environment where employees can directly implement and use multiple AI agents tailored to their jobs.
