Pearl Abyss gives 5 million won special bonus to all employees to mark 5 million \'Red Desert\' sales

Pearl Abyss paid a special bonus of 5 million won per employee to all staff to commemorate 5 million copies sold of \'Red Desert\'. The bonus was paid on April 23, industry sources said on April 27. Based on a total headcount of 733 employees in the company’s year-end business report, the total payout is about 3.7 billion won. The game reached 5 million sales 26 days after release.

Nexon to hold MapleStory-based game development hackathon with 20 million won in prize money

Nexon will recruit participants for \"Mekathon,\" a hackathon to develop new games using its \"MapleStory\" intellectual property, it said on April 27. The event will use resources from its sandbox platform \"MapleStory World\" to plan and build creative games. Applications run through May 11. Up to 160 adults aged 19 and older will be selected across two rounds, with team-building, training and mentoring provided. Total prizes are 20 million won.

Shinhan Bank said on Tuesday it will hold a short-form video contest to promote its Shinhan Narasarang Card. The contest theme is “Shinhan Narasarang Card expressed in 20 seconds”. Participants must submit a video of 20 seconds or less highlighting key benefits and features, with no restrictions on appearing in the video or filming method. AI-based video production is allowed. Entries are accepted until May 17 via Google Forms.
