Krafton to hold Korea-Japan map creation contest for Battlegrounds Mobile

Krafton will hold the 2026 Craft Ground Contest for its mobile game Battlegrounds Mobile, using its in-game creation system Craft Ground. The event is the first map creation contest for users in South Korea and Japan and is aimed at expanding the user-generated content ecosystem. MSIT to hold one-panel comic contest imagining the future of science and technology

South Korea\'s Ministry of Science and ICT and the Korea Foundation for the Advancement of Science and Creativity will hold a one-panel comic contest themed \"In 10 years, how science and technology will change our lives.\" The contest has two categories: an original one-panel comic and a generative AI one-panel comic, with separate student and adult divisions. Submissions run from July 20 to 4 p.m. on Sept. 18. A total of 18 works will be awarded, with 20.5 million won in prize money.

Single-stock leverage ETF margin tripled to raise trading barrier after wild swings

The South Korean government will triple the basic margin requirement for single-stock leveraged ETFs tied to Samsung Electronics and SK Hynix and raise the minimum trading unit to curb excessive leverage trading. The margin will rise to 30 million won from 10 million won, effective Aug. 5. Officials said the measures aim to reduce frequent short-term trades and shift the market toward investors able to bear product risks, while monitoring impacts after implementation.
