KT narrows CEO race to three candidates

KT named three finalists for its next chief executive after reviewing submissions and conducting online interviews of internal and external candidates. The board nominating committee cited qualifications including management expertise and leadership. It plans to run in-depth interviews and pick the final nominee within the year. The board is expected to choose a candidate on December 16 for recommendation to the shareholders meeting in March 2026.

KCA says domestic 5G private networks top 100 sites

South Korea’s Korea Communications Agency said domestic service sites using 5G private networks have surpassed 100, four years after the policy launched. LG Electronics became the 100th adopter last month. The agency said the networks are expanding across factories, logistics centres, ports and healthcare. It plans to continue supporting frequency supply, consulting and regulatory improvements through its support centre.

KT wins top prize in large company category at Safety Culture Innovation Awards

KT said it won the large company prize at the second Safety Culture Innovation Awards overseen by the Korea Employers Federation. The company was recognised for building a safety and health management system aligned with domestic and international standards, expanding investment, and supporting partner firms. It obtained ISO 45001 certification in 2023 and later secured KOSHA‑MS certification in the general construction sector. KT uses an AI‑based system to monitor worksites and plans further safety support.
