Jin Ok-dong of Shinhan Financial pledges sustainable narrative in shareholder letter

Shinhan Financial Group said Chairman Jin Ok-dong sent a letter to shareholders outlining a vision to build Shinhan’s own “sustainable narrative” based on its founding spirit. He said the group is accelerating an AI transition, including holding a generative AI contest for executives and setting up a dedicated AX unit. He also cited early achievement of a 50 percent shareholder return ratio and exceeding 1 trillion won in global pre-tax profit, while strengthening internal controls across group units.

NCSoft earns top AAA rating in 2026 MSCI ESG review

NCSoft said on Wednesday it earned the top AAA rating in Morgan Stanley Capital International’s 2026 ESG assessment. The company kept an AA rating for four consecutive years from 2022 before being upgraded to AAA this year. It said it received higher marks for disclosing human resources information and greenhouse gas emissions efficiency, executive-level oversight of ethics issues, and having an anti-corruption policy. MSCI rates listed companies from AAA to CCC across seven levels.

Coupang acting CEO Harold Rogers holds on-site talks, hears hardships from rising raw material costs

Coupang said acting CEO Harold Rogers visited Cheongju in North Chungcheong Province on April 8 to meet small merchants and hear views from the field. Rogers visited a grain processing company and met representatives from five small businesses in the Chungcheong region to discuss pending issues and check production sites. Participants raised topics including cost burdens, supply stability, efficiency in farm product operations, B2B transactions and overseas market expansion.
