Hana Financial opens AI, digital jobs centre for middle-aged in Gwangju Seo-gu
Hana Financial Group has opened a jobs centre in Seo-gu, a district of the Jeonnam Gwangju Integrated Special City, to help middle-aged people strengthen AI and digital skills and support re-employment. Hana Financial said it opened the Gwangju Seo-gu New Middle-Aged AI and Digital Jobs Centre on Aug. 25. The centre is the third under its Hana Power On Second Life programme, following openings in Seoul’s Gangnam-gu in 2024 and Sejong in January.

ETRI to map out next 50 years with AI and DX, focus on national strategic technologies
South Korea's Electronics and Telecommunications Research Institute (ETRI) will unveil a new AI-centred research and development vision and a national AI innovation strategy as it marks its 50th anniversary. ETRI said it will hold ETRI Conference 2026 on Sept. 1 in Seoul to review 50 years of ICT achievements and present R&D directions for an era of AI transformation. It also plans to concentrate on five priority fields including AI and physical AI.

Kakao Pay launches 'Link My Card Money' starting with Hana Card debit cards
Kakao Pay has launched a service that lets users make payments by linking Kakao Pay Money to an existing debit card without issuing a separate card. The company said on Aug. 26 it introduced 'Link My Card Money,' which connects Kakao Pay Money to a physical debit card already issued. The service is initially available for Hana Card debit cards and will expand to additional partner card companies.
