A possible leak of customer information involving 183 people has been raised at OK Savings Bank. The company said it detected an unauthorised external access attempt and blocked the relevant systems, and that it is investigating whether any personal information was actually leaked.

OK Savings Bank said on Oct. 13 it detected an unauthorised attempt to access webpages on its website on Oct. 12 and carried out emergency response measures, including immediately blocking its information inquiry system.

OK Savings Bank reported the "possibility of an information leak" involving the 183 customers to financial authorities and other relevant agencies in line with initial response guidelines. It said it is investigating what happened and whether any information was leaked with an external security monitoring firm.

The company said no additional irregular signs or suspicious situations have occurred since the system was blocked.

An OK Savings Bank official said, "We consider the protection of customer information our top priority," adding, "We will transparently inform follow-up measures as soon as the investigation results are available."

Earlier, Yegaram Savings Bank and Welcome Savings Bank also experienced customer information leak incidents due to hacking. As security incidents continue in the savings bank sector, concerns are also growing over customer information protection and response systems for breach incidents.
