Kiwoom Securities' 2025 net profit tops 1 trillion won for first time; operating profit up 36 percent

Kiwoom Securities said its 2025 operating profit rose 35.5 percent from a year earlier to 1.49 trillion won on a consolidated basis, according to a preliminary tally disclosed on Tuesday. Revenue climbed 51.8 percent to 17.12 trillion won and net profit gained 33.5 percent to 1.12 trillion won, topping 1 trillion won for the first time. Fourth-quarter operating profit rose 91.8 percent to 345.6 billion won but missed a market estimate.

Kakao Entertainment teams up with Samsung Lions to run MD business for three years

Kakao Entertainment will take exclusive charge of the Samsung Lions’ official merchandise business, the company said on Tuesday. Under a partnership running through 2028, it will oversee planning, production, distribution and sales for three years. Products will include replica uniforms similar to game jerseys and lifestyle items such as folding cushions and patch photocard pouches. Sales will expand to online and offline channels, including a team store on the global K-culture platform Berriz and a renewed offline store.

Krafton launches PUBG: Battlegrounds X Kakao Friends collaboration merchandise

Krafton said on Tuesday it will launch collaboration merchandise for PUBG: Battlegrounds made with Kakao Friends. The project was planned as a lifestyle collaboration linking the two fan bases by blending Battlegrounds’ universe and symbolic elements into Kakao Friends characters. The 12 items include plush toys, keyring dolls, LED figures, mugs, dusters and car air-vent figures. Products will be sold through online and offline channels, and promotions will be held on the official community.
