Asana has acquired workflow automation company Stack AI for $75 million.
TechCrunch reported on May 28 that the acquisition is part of Asana's strategy to transition into an AI-native work platform. Stack AI co-founders Tony Rosinol (토니 로시놀) and Bernard Aceituno (버나드 아세이투노) will also join Asana.
Asana has pursued an AI transition strategy to position its platform as an operating system for teams made up of humans and agents.
Stack AI has developed an AI workflow automation system that operates within existing enterprise systems. It supports designing agents by pulling data from services such as Salesforce and Slack.
Asana has expanded its AI product lineup in recent years. It introduced the AI Studio agent builder and AI Teammates, a suite of prebuilt automation products.
Asana CEO Dan Rogers (댄 로저스) said the acquisition will bring forward the company's roadmap and move human-agent work to the next stage. He said Stack AI will enable agent-based automation of complex business processes from start to finish.
Asana's market value has fallen by more than half since the emergence of ChatGPT, and founder Dustin Moskovitz stepped down as CEO in March last year. Even so, revenue has continued to rise, TechCrunch reported.
