Apple seen adopting 200-megapixel camera in 2028 iPhone push
Apple is expected to adopt a 200-megapixel camera in iPhones to be released in 2028, raising the prospect of a major shift in its camera strategy as smartphone camera competition intensifies. IT outlet 9to5Mac reported that Morgan Stanley forecast the move in an investor note, calling it the first official analysis to specify a timeline. Morgan Stanley also expects Samsung Electronics to supply the sensor.

LG Electronics showcases 11 AI-first businesses with LG NOVA
LG Electronics' North America Innovation Center, LG NOVA, opened an exhibit at CES 2026 Eureka Park in Las Vegas, the company said on Tuesday. The exhibit features 11 startups in AI, healthtech and cleantech under the theme of leading with AI-first innovation. LG NOVA said it is focused on creating AI-first businesses that can address market problems and expand independently, and it introduced startups it has incubated and spun out as separate companies.

NXP launches processor to digitise core vehicle functions
NXP Semiconductors said on Jan. 7 it unveiled its S32N7 ultra-integrated processor series at CES 2026. The company said the 5-nanometre processor digitises core vehicle functions and can remove dozens of hardware modules by integrating software and data into a single central hub, cutting total cost of ownership by up to 20 percent. Bosch applied S32N7 to its vehicle integration platform and is sampling the top model S32N79 to customers.
