Shinhan Financial Group held a management forum for the second half of the year and called for stronger market competitiveness and improved execution of its artificial intelligence transition.
Shinhan Financial said on July 5 it held the "Management Forum for the Second Half of 2026" from July 3 to 4 at Shinhan Bank’s Blue Campus, with about 300 group executives attending.
The forum ran for two days and one night under the slogan, "Vibrant Shinhan, Overwhelming Immersion." Participants reviewed the group’s current crisis situation and discussed second-half execution strategies, focusing on strengthening market standing and achieving AX.
The first day began with a video assuming a situation in which "Shinhan Financial Group disappears from the market in 2030." A lecture followed on Shinhan Financial’s current position from an external perspective, and executives shared a sense of crisis that "there is no future if we do not change now."
Jin Ok-dong (진옥동), chairman of Shinhan Financial, said, "Based on Shinhan’s own distinctive wildness, we must lead market competition and future financial innovation," stressing a shift in executives’ mindset.
The forum also used an AI agent produced in-house by Shinhan Financial in the discussions. The AI agent analysed the discussion in real time and served as a "red team" by presenting counterarguments and alternatives. It was also used for feedback on pre-assigned tasks and for evaluating group presentation plans.
A working group made up of outside directors and staff members from each subsidiary also took part in the discussions.
On the second day, participants shared second-half plans to move toward becoming an AI Native Company. They also discussed innovation results and changes in ways of working through presentations of AI agent cases by subsidiary. An AI agent experience booth was also set up at the venue.
Jin said, "In addition to developing differentiated products and services, we must set challenging targets based on immersion and teamwork," adding, "Leaders, starting with yourselves, should use AI to strengthen your respective capabilities."
