Institutional money shifts from bitcoin to XRP and Solana, Wintermute says altcoin rotation clear
Institutional money is shifting from bitcoin into XRP and Solana while bitcoin trades sideways, market maker Wintermute said. It said the crypto market held firm despite hawkish comments by the Federal Reserve chair and a drop in U.S. tech stocks, and that large funds are rotating into altcoins. ETF inflows into XRP and Solana hit 2026 highs, while bitcoin and ethereum spot ETFs also drew substantial inflows. Wintermute said U.S. jobs data could shape near-term direction.

KakaoGames makes strategic investment in AI backend firm BackendX
KakaoGames said on Tuesday it made a strategic investment in BackendX, an AI-based backend development and operations automation service company. KakaoGames plans to use the investment to identify promising indie and small game developers early and seek business opportunities that could lead to acquisitions and publishing. It is also considering offering BackendX services to small developers with which it has publishing deals. BackendX plans to launch its service on Sept. 7.

Kia sets August U.S. sales record, targets EV mainstreaming with EV3 under $30,000
Kia recorded its best-ever August sales in the United States, selling 83,793 vehicles, up 1 percent from a year earlier. Several models set monthly records, while hybrid and electrified-vehicle sales hit August highs. Pure EV sales were mixed, with EV6 and EV9 down in August. Kia is launching the 2027 EV3 small electric SUV from $29,890, excluding a $1,495 delivery fee, in multiple trims with NACS charging ports.
