U.S. Justice Department probes suspected Iran use of Binance to evade sanctions

The U.S. Justice Department is investigating signs Iran used Binance to bypass U.S. economic sanctions, Cointelegraph reported on Tuesday, citing the Wall Street Journal. The WSJ cited internal documents and sources as saying Iran may have used Binance to transfer funds to affiliated networks, including Yemen's Houthi rebels. It was unclear whether the probe targets Binance itself or only users, the report said.

A well-known software engineer in the cryptocurrency community said XRP’s price does not fully reflect its technical potential and raised the possibility of a big long-term rise. Vincent Van Code said he first bought XRP at about $0.50 in 2021 and has made about a 300 percent gain at current prices around $1.40. He said research into the XRP Ledger strengthened his conviction. Some investors disagreed, citing slower gains than other tokens. Van Code said XRP has risen more than 200-fold over 10 years and suggested $100 to $1,000 after 2030.

MSIT to push AI-based research administration on IRIS, offer researcher recommendation service

South Korea's Ministry of Science and ICT said on March 11 it has secured grounds to 추진 AI-based research administration support services through a help desk run by the Personal Information Protection Commission to review privacy issues in public-sector AI transformation projects. The commission approved a prior adequacy review for IRIS AI recommendation services for evaluators and collaborative researchers, and prepared safeguards with the ministry to reduce privacy risks.
