[Digital Today reporter Chi-gyu Hwang] Microsoft on Thursday released its latest examples of so-called Frontier Transformation companies that embed AI into core business processes to create value.

French IT consulting company Atos Group has built a large-scale AI agent operating model. It has deployed Microsoft 365 Copilot to 56,000 employees in 54 countries and is running 19,000 AI agents in an integrated way using Foundry, Copilot Studio and Agent 365. It linked productivity, security, compliance and agent governance into a single operating model.

Global accounting and consulting firm EY is expanding AI into an enterprise-wide transformation stage. It deployed Microsoft 365 Copilot to 150,000 employees, raising productivity by 15 percent, and is expanding Microsoft 365 Frontier Suite to more than 400,000 people. It cut lead time by 95 percent, reduced finance operating costs by more than 37 percent and cut manual workloads by up to 90 percent. UK public healthcare body NHS England is pushing a large-scale AI rollout. In a pilot covering 90 NHS organisations and 30,000 workers, it saved an average of 43 minutes a day per user in administrative work time.

U.S. public research university the University of Kentucky integrated more than 150 AI initiatives under its own AI governance system, the CATS AI framework. It is providing an AI-use environment to more than 70,000 students, faculty and staff.

South Korean heating, ventilation, air conditioning and hot water solutions company Navien saved 28,000 hours a year through AI agents and automation. It said the results came from connecting data and workflows across its business in 47 countries based on Microsoft Fabric, Foundry, Copilot Studio and Microsoft 365 Copilot. It also expects to cut total cost of ownership by more than $1.4 million over the next five years through an Azure transition.

Banco Popular Dominicano, a private-sector bank in the Dominican Republic, expanded the scope of operational risk monitoring from about 40 percent to 100 percent. It built an AI-based real-time supervision system based on AURA, a specialised agent ecosystem built with Copilot Studio and Power Platform. As a result, analytical capability increased sevenfold and manual work fell 70 percent, and it is currently processing about 80,000 documents a week and more than 300 cases a day, Microsoft said. Cactus Life Sciences, a specialised services company in life sciences, improved efficiency in structured data extraction by about 35 to 50 percent.

Global bakery company Grupo Bimbo cut audit planning time across 39 countries by 20 percent using a Copilot Studio-based AI agent. The agent directly connects approved guidelines and templates to auditors, cutting the time needed to create risk and control matrices from days to seconds. Global pharmaceutical company Novo Nordisk expanded its ability to evaluate promising ideas from 5 to 10 cases per quarter to more than 50 cases using an Azure-based reasoning agent.

Customers of SimCorp One, an investment management platform from investment management solutions company SimCorp, achieved a 134 percent return on investment over three years. The company said it supports financial institutions' AI investment workflows based on Azure and Foundry, delivering a 45 percent improvement in operating efficiency, savings of 10 hours per person per week, and a 50 to 60 day reduction in time to launch.

Global automaker Stellantis is jointly developing more than 100 AI initiatives with Microsoft across product development, customer management and operations. It is also aiming to reduce data centre installation area by 60 percent by 2029 through Azure-based infrastructure modernisation.

Chinese jewellery retailer Chow Tai Fook is running more than 400 customised AI agents to advance customer experience and operating efficiency. It increased efficiency in core business processes by more than 70 percent and improved sales conversion rates by up to 57 percent.

Supermarket chain Grandiose Supermarkets raised purchase conversion rates by 31 percent with an AI shopping assistant called GrandChef based on Microsoft Foundry and Azure OpenAI Service.

Semiconductor wafer process equipment company ASM strengthened cyber resilience and protection of key intellectual property with Microsoft Security Copilot. It shifted threat investigations to an AI-based integrated environment, cutting incident classification time by 68 percent and reducing laptop compromise investigation time to 8 minutes from 25 minutes.

U.S. healthcare provider St. Luke’s University Health Network integrated threat responses in a complex healthcare security environment with Security Copilot. It saved about 200 hours a month on classifying phishing alerts and cut the time to write incident reports to minutes from hours.
