LG Uplus builds AI safety control system at Busan New Port with high-precision positioning
LG Uplus said on Thursday it will build an RTK-based AI safety control system to improve safety for port workers at Busan New Port Pier 5. Working with BNCT and CyberLogitec, it will track the locations of workers and moving equipment in real time and issue alerts when AI-based CCTV analysis foresees risk. LG Uplus said trials tracked straddle carriers to within 1 to 2 cm. It plans to apply RTK to about 70 units of equipment by the second half.

Yelp to buy AI agent startup Hatch for about $300 million
Review platform Yelp said on Jan. 22 it will acquire AI agent startup Hatch for about $300 million, valuing it at about 12 times Hatch's $25 million in annual recurring revenue. Yelp will pay $270 million in cash and the remaining $30 million as employee retention incentives in instalments over the next 2 to 3 years. The deal is expected to close next month.

Pearl Abyss' Crimson Desert enters gold master stage, global launch set for March 20
Pearl Abyss has completed development of its new game Crimson Desert and entered the final “gold master” stage, the company said on its official website on Jan. 22. The stage refers to completion of the master version for sale, meaning technical preparations for launch are effectively finished. The game is set for a simultaneous worldwide release on March 20, Korea time. It will launch on PlayStation 5, Xbox Series X|S, PC via Steam and Apple Mac, with GeForce Now support.
