Superfast, the holding company of game developer 111 Percent, posted first-half sales of 106.5 billion won this year. That was up 38.4 percent from a year earlier.
Its first-half performance was led by its major game lineup. 'Unbbaelzonmankgame' posted 62.9 billion won in sales, while 'Hyeopta-di' generated 32.9 billion won, up 8.7 times from a year earlier.
As of the end of June, global cumulative downloads for major games were tallied at 21.56 million for 'Random Dice: Defense', 10 million for 'Unbbaelzonmankgame' and 3.10 million for 'Hyeopta-di'. In particular, 'Hyeopta-di', released in October 2024, recorded 470,000 monthly active users (MAU) this year after revamping the game for domestic users and entering the Taiwan market.
Superfast cited its 'Agile' development process, in which small teams quickly produce and validate games, as the driver behind its earnings growth.
According to the Korea Creative Content Agency, the outlook for the corporate business survey index (CBI) for investment in the game industry in the third quarter this year stood at 99.5. Amid those industry conditions, Superfast said it held the 'Superfast Next' program last month and is making practical investments in selected teams to seek shared growth with smaller game companies.
In the second half, it plans to focus on global publishing and investment in intellectual property (IP). Based on a joint venture it set up last year with global game publisher Haby, it is stepping up co-publishing in overseas markets. It also introduced 2 new titles through Offmoon, a Steam-focused subsidiary. It also plans to pursue business diversification through investment in new projects based on its own IP and tie-ups with external game companies.
Superfast CEO Kim Kang-an (김강안) said, "The first-half results were the outcome of our system successfully operating to quickly connect to the next stage in line with the changing market environment." He added, "Even in difficult industry conditions, we will not spare investment so that excellent IP can get opportunities by creating an ecosystem where people can overcome failure and take on challenges again."
