South Korea ministries, broadcast media body sign AI safety pact for youth
South Korea's Ministry of Science and ICT, Ministry of Gender Equality and Family, Ministry of Education and the Broadcast Media Communications Commission on March 26 signed a memorandum of understanding in Seoul to build a safe and inclusive AI and science-technology foundation and protect youth. The agreement aims to jointly respond to new risks from the AI transition, including deepfake crimes using generative AI. The agencies will cooperate on ethics rules, education and support measures.

LG Electronics to boost OLED leadership, defend premium segment with scarcity
LG Electronics is rolling out its 2026 OLED TV lineup, combining record-high brightness with ultra-low reflection technology to defend its position in the premium market. It unveiled the “The Next OLED” range in Seoul, highlighting new color and AI processing features, along with upgrades to sound and webOS. The company also introduced new form factors, including a wireless wallpaper TV. An executive said limited global OLED panel supply would prevent rapid price commoditisation.

Samsung Securities RIA account balances top 30 billion won
Samsung Securities said on Wednesday balances in its Reshoring Investment Account, or RIA, had topped 30 billion won. The company said the total exceeded 30 billion won in four days after the accounts were launched on March 23, and the number of accounts rose above 4,000, averaging about 7.5 million won per account. The RIA provides temporary tax benefits on capital gains from overseas stocks when proceeds are converted into won and invested long term in the domestic market.
