Smilegate will begin a character pre-creation event for its new massively multiplayer online role-playing game (MMORPG) “Eclipse: The Awakening,” also known as “Eclipse,” from noon on Aug. 19, it said on Tuesday.
Smilegate has prepared 24 server groups for the event. Users can choose a server, character name and class in advance on the official website. Users who complete pre-creation can play the game at official launch without going through a separate creation process.
Smilegate also released new combat videos on the official website showing two weapon types for each class, to help users check which class matches their play style.
“Eclipse Pick,” unveiled ahead of the official launch, is a partnership brand that makes official skins with various partners. In Season 1, 6 streamers took part: Bigboss, Susam, Manman, Bongjun, Nari and Fairy Ash.
Smilegate made official skins based on each partner’s appearance, voice and motions. It is currently applying for a trademark for Eclipse Pick and plans to continually expand partner collaborations in the future. It also plans to use donations raised through official skin sales for social contribution activities with Smilegate Hope Studio.
Shin Jae-ik (신재익), a director at Smilegate, said, “With Eclipse character pre-creation, users will be able to prepare for the official release.” He added, “Starting with Eclipse Pick, we will continue to showcase various content that users and streamers create together.”
