Dubai formalises rules for exchange-traded virtual asset derivatives

Dubai has formalised rules for exchange-traded virtual asset derivatives, allowing retail investors to participate subject to conditions including suitability reviews and leverage and margin limits, Cointelegraph reported. The Virtual Assets Regulatory Authority introduced the framework in version 2.1 of its Exchange Services Rulebook. It sets requirements for licensed firms offering such products in Dubai, including customer suitability assessment, leverage and margin controls, asset segregation, disclosure standards and regulator intervention powers.

Baek Kyung-hoon discusses science and technology cooperation with Canada's trade minister

Baek Kyung-hoon, South Korea's deputy prime minister and science minister, met Canadian Trade Minister Maninder Sidhu on March 31 to discuss ways to expand science and technology cooperation. The two sides reviewed ongoing collaboration, including joint research and personnel exchanges, based on a 2016 agreement. They also discussed plans for the fifth Joint Committee on Science, Technology and Innovation, to be held in Seoul in the second half of this year.

Korea broadcast media communications commission appoints 141 instructors for telecom and AI training

South Korea's Broadcasting Media Communications Commission and the Korea Association of ICT Promotion (KAIT) said they appointed 141 professional instructors at a launch event in Seoul. The nationwide programme, starting in April, targets digitally vulnerable groups including older people, people with disabilities and multicultural families. It covers telecom service use, fraud prevention, AI service use and prevention, and smart device use. It also includes updated anti-scam training with police cooperation.
