Woori Bank donated 1 billion won to the KIST Future Foundation, an affiliate of the Korea Institute of Science and Technology, to support science and technology development and the training of next-generation researchers. The bank said the fund will be used to develop researchers tackling national and social challenges, find and support promising early-career researchers, run scholarship programmes and operate science and technology education programmes for developing countries.

Democratic Party lawmakers said they would provide legislative and policy support to move from addressing the so-called Korea discount to a Korea premium era. Speaking at an event at the Korea Exchange in Seoul, Rep. Kang Jun-hyeon and Oh Ki-hyung stressed that revisions to commercial and capital markets laws strengthened transparency and curbed unfair trading. Oh called for sustained value-up policies regardless of the administration and urged board-focused governance and greater roles for institutional investors.
