Former GitHub CEO raises $60 million seed funding, enters AI development tools market

Thomas Dohmke (토마스 돔케), former CEO of GitHub, founded development tools startup Entire and raised $60 million in seed funding at a $300 million valuation, TechCrunch reported on Monday. The funding round was led by Felicis. Entire is developing open-source tools to manage code generated by AI agents, including a git-compatible database and collaboration features. Dohmke said AI-generated code output has exceeded what humans can handle.

Runway raises $315 million to speed world model development

AI video-generation startup Runway has raised $315 million in a Series E funding round, TechCrunch reported on Feb. 10. The investment values the company at about $5.3 billion, nearly double its valuation in the prior round. Runway plans to use the new funding to accelerate development of next-generation world models and to expand its products. World models focus on helping AI understand and predict real-world environments.

Alibaba launches RynnBrain AI model for robots, expands into physical AI

Alibaba has unveiled RynnBrain, an AI model intended to help robots understand and identify their surroundings, CNBC reported on Monday. Alibaba released RynnBrain as open source so developers can use it for free. The model targets the physical AI field, which includes robotics technologies such as autonomous vehicles. CNBC said Nvidia is developing robot AI models under the Cosmos brand, while Google DeepMind has Gemini Robotics-ER 1.5.
