Hana Financial Group has opened a jobs centre in Seo-gu, a district of the Jeonnam Gwangju Integrated Special City, to help middle-aged people strengthen AI and digital skills and support re-employment.
Hana Financial said on Aug. 26 it opened the "Gwangju Seo-gu New Middle-Aged AI and Digital Jobs Centre" in Seo-gu on Aug. 25.
The centre was established as part of Hana Financial’s re-employment support programme for middle-aged people, "Hana Power On Second Life." It is the third jobs centre to open, following one in Seoul’s Gangnam-gu in 2024 and another in Sejong in January.
The centre will support middle-aged residents in the region with AI and digital job training, re-employment training, and job counselling and matching.
The curriculum includes training for existing platform jobs and social jobs, as well as AI and digital roles such as "AI data labeller," "AI content marketer" and "AI literacy instructor."
Hana Financial plans to link the centre with the 9 jobs centres operated by Seo-gu and use networks of local social enterprises and village enterprises to provide counselling and job matching for those who complete the training.
A Hana Financial official said it plans to run job support programmes for middle-aged people tailored to local characteristics and demand based on its experience operating jobs centres. The official added it will work with the local community to support re-employment and job creation for middle-aged people.
