Cyera to buy Oasis Security for $1 billion to expand AI agent security
Data security firm Cyera has signed a letter of intent to acquire Oasis Security in a deal worth about $1 billion. Cyera plans to integrate Oasis Security’s technology into its unified identity and data security platform after the acquisition. Oasis Security has focused on non-human identity security, mainly for AI agents. As AI agents increase, companies are adopting cyber security software to monitor them and manage access to other software.

Tether signs tokenisation pact with Nairobi Securities Exchange
Tether signed a memorandum of understanding with the Nairobi Securities Exchange to jointly review tokenised securities, blockchain-based market infrastructure and possible use of USDT payments. The two sides will also examine whether USDT can be used as a layer of digital payment infrastructure within Kenya’s regulatory framework. The agreement focuses on blockchain market infrastructure, digital asset education and reviewing real-world asset tokenisation.

Samsung Securities commercial paper licence seen as green light, Meritz still in fog
Samsung Securities is seen as closer to winning approval to issue short-term commercial paper as regulators consider lowering sanctions linked to sales misconduct at key branches. The Financial Services Commission is expected to decide on the sanctions at its July 31 meeting, and the licence agenda could reach a Sept. 9 meeting. Meritz Securities, meanwhile, has not advanced its application, with prosecutors investigating alleged unfair trading and other issues weighing on timing.
