Uber to launch robotaxi service in Tokyo this year with Wayve and Nissan
Uber will start a robotaxi service in Tokyo in 2026 with British AI autonomous driving software company Wayve and Japanese automaker Nissan, TechCrunch reported on March 12. Wayve recently completed a $1.2 billion fundraising round and plans to deploy its software in Nissan Leaf vehicles operating on Uber’s platform. Wayve is also preparing a London robotaxi service and plans to apply its technology to vehicles slated for commercialization in 2027.

Alexa+ adds adults-only 'Sassy' style, bans NSFW content
Amazon has added a new personality style, 'Sassy', to its Alexa Plus AI assistant, TechCrunch reported on Wednesday. The feature is available only to adults and requires additional security verification in the Alexa app. Sassy is the fourth personality option after Brief, Chill and Sweet, which were unveiled last month. Amazon said devices with Amazon Kids enabled cannot use it and that NSFW and other prohibited content remains banned.

Bumble launches AI dating assistant Bee
Bumble has launched an AI-based dating assistant called Bee, TechCrunch reported on Wednesday. The assistant learns users’ values, relationship goals and communication styles to recommend matches. Bee is currently in a pilot phase, with a beta test set to begin soon. Bumble plans to use it to collect user information more precisely and offer an experience distinct from rival apps such as Tinder.
