Nvidia CEO Jensen Huang (젠슨 황) forecast that Nvidia’s chip sales next year will double from this year.

On Sept. 17, CNBC reported that Huang made the remarks at an event in Scotland hosted by Britain’s King Charles III.

The comments underscored expectations of continued strong growth at Nvidia and added weight to forecasts that the uptrend will continue over the next 6 quarters. Nvidia previously projected revenue growth of 70 percent in its fiscal year ending in January 2028, which would imply a scale of about $673 billion (about 930.9 trillion won). Analysts’ expectations rose after that forecast.

Huang said, “I expect Nvidia will sell twice as many chips next year as this year.” He added, “It is because AI is delivering major benefits across diverse industries and economies, and in almost every country where Nvidia operates, people want to invest in AI.”

Nvidia does not disclose its total chip sales. Its flagship products are data center graphics processing units, including Blackwell and Rubin. Huang said last fall that Nvidia shipped 6 million Blackwell GPUs over 4 quarters.

Beyond GPUs, Nvidia also produces central processing units, switch chips, optical networking chips, laptop chips, and Jetson chips for robots and vehicles. It also supplies chips used in the Nintendo Switch 2 game console.

Huang also discussed AI safety with officials from Google DeepMind, OpenAI and Anthropic. As concerns grow over the risks of recent AI technology, Huang said unsafe products should be held back while development continues.

Huang said, “If a product is not safe, you should hold it back and keep engineering.”
