Nexth logs Q2 operating loss of 5.3 billion won; net profit turns positive on OneStore acquisition gain
Nexth posted a second-quarter operating loss of 5.3 billion won as revenue fell 37.8 percent from a year earlier to 5.8 billion won, preliminary results showed. Net profit returned to the black at 8.1 billion won, reflecting a 15.7 billion won one-off gain from buying an 89.03 percent stake in OneStore for 62.6 billion won. Nexth said it will expand its AI and blockchain-based platform ecosystem in the second half.

Naver to invest additional 130 billion won in resale platform Kream
Naver will invest 130 billion won in a paid-in capital increase by affiliate Kream, it said in a regulatory filing. Naver approved the investment at a board meeting on Aug. 4 and plans to acquire 36,861 common shares, with the timing set for the second half of this year. The company said the purpose is to secure funds to expand Kream’s business scale. The total amount invested in Kream will be 179.999 billion won including this investment.

After tax overhaul, government weighs tweaks to loan rules, eases balance loans, tightens lease loans
South Korea is expected to step up discussions on follow-up measures on real estate and household lending after releasing a tax overhaul plan. The basic framework for managing household loans, including LTV and DSR rules, is set to remain. Authorities are considering easing funding burdens for end-users who signed contracts before tighter rules by partly exempting some balance loans from banks’ total loan caps. At the same time, they are weighing tougher rules for jeonse loans, including lower limits and guarantee ratios.
