Palo Alto Networks expands AI agent runtime security integration on Google Cloud

Palo Alto Networks is strengthening security integration with Google Cloud to help monitor the actions of autonomous AI agents. It is linking Prisma AIRS runtime security with the Google Cloud Agent Gateway to monitor agent tool calls and connections to external systems. The company says security standards should extend beyond checking prompts and responses to examining what agents actually do. It also plans to expand inspection to Gemini Enterprise Agent Platform inputs and outputs this fall.

Databricks buys spreadsheet startup Row Zero

Databricks has acquired early-stage spreadsheet startup Row Zero, TechCrunch reported on Sept. 24. Databricks plans to integrate spreadsheets as a work interface connecting AI agents and business intelligence. The company moved to buy Row Zero after confirming its finance team was using the cloud tool. CEO Ali Ghodsi said combining BI, agents and spreadsheets makes sense. Row Zero was founded by engineers from AWS and Tableau.

Snapdragon Summit 2026: Qualcomm to unify AI chip software with Modular platform

Qualcomm will expand a Modular-based AI software stack across its Snapdragon products, aiming to reduce the need to build separate software for each type of AI hardware. Chris Lattner, Qualcomm's senior vice president for advanced AI software and platforms, said the Modular stack supports 6 architectures from 6 companies as a single stack. Qualcomm acquired Modular in June to build a chip-agnostic AI compute layer across devices, edge and data centers.
