Playwith Korea CEO Kim Hak-jun to push to buy 100,000 treasury shares

Playwith Korea said on Monday that Chief Executive Officer Kim Hak-jun (김학준) is pushing to buy 100,000 of the company’s own shares. The move is aimed at demonstrating management’s confidence in the firm’s mid- to long-term vision and practicing responsible management. The company is focusing on expanding key intellectual property, innovating development systems, and diversifying platforms and genres, while advancing global licensing for Rohan Online and Seal Online.

Coupang personal data leak sanctions procedure nears end, June decision possible

South Korea’s Personal Information Protection Commission has moved its investigation into a personal data leak at Coupang into the final stage of sanctions procedures. The watchdog sent Coupang an advance notice in early April outlining alleged violations and planned measures, and is reviewing the company’s written opinion. Industry officials see a possibility the sanctions level could be finalised as early as June. A large-scale leak involving 33,673,817 records was confirmed.

SKC raises funds through rights offering for glass substrate commercialisation

SKC said on Monday it will secure funding for investment in its glass substrate business and move to improve its financial structure through a rights offering worth 1.17 trillion won. The final offer price was set at 99,500 won per share, with 11.73 million new shares to be issued. SKC plans to allocate 589.6 billion won to glass substrate investment and 577.5 billion won to debt repayment, lowering its debt ratio from about 230 percent to about 129 percent.
