South Korea to unveil roadmap to overhaul AI, software payment system as early as September
South Korea plans to release a mid- to long-term roadmap to revise its payment calculation system for AI and software projects as early as next month. The Ministry of Science and ICT is aiming to make it public in September to October. The plan will reflect new business types such as generative AI and AI agents and changes in software development driven by wider use of AI development tools.

Galaxy posts $85 million net loss in Q2 amid crypto market slump
Galaxy Digital posted a net loss of $85 million in the second quarter of 2026 as falling digital asset prices weighed on results. Loss per share was $0.09. Revenue fell 15 percent from the previous quarter to $8.7 billion, missing Wall Street estimates compiled by Yahoo Finance. The company cited a weaker crypto market and said profitability improved in some businesses, including digital assets and AI data centers.

CryptoQuant says crypto whales step up accumulation as bear market nears end
Large holders of bitcoin, ether and XRP increased their holdings during periods of price weakness, according to an analysis cited by Cointelegraph. On-chain data firm CryptoQuant said rising whale balances in weak price zones can reduce available supply and concentrate holdings, though further declines remain possible. Bitcoin whale holdings excluding exchanges and mining pools rose to about 3.06 million BTC. Ether wallets holding 10,000 to 100,000 ETH hit a record, and large XRP orders stayed elevated.
