AI bubble likely to burst on oversupply, not technology failure, with 2028-2029 as risk window

The AI bubble could burst when supply and capital spending outpace demand that can be monetised, rather than from technology failure, an analysis said. Persistent bottlenecks in memory, advanced packaging, networks, power and site readiness may delay a downturn. Strong semiconductor sales and AI-related revenue underscore demand, but rising memory prices may be lifting revenue faster than deployments. Oracle, OpenAI and the Stargate project were cited as showing a gap between commitments and realised revenue, with 2028-2029 flagged as a high-risk period.

Daedong Q2 operating profit 41.2 billion won, up 64 percent year on year

Daedong said on Aug. 10 it posted record second-quarter results. Second-quarter revenue rose 12.7 percent from a year earlier to 467.0 billion won, while operating profit climbed 64.3 percent to 41.2 billion won. The operating margin was 8.8 percent. First-half revenue totalled 844.8 billion won and operating profit was 47.2 billion won. The company cited stronger product competitiveness and distribution channels.

Krafton to hold summer 'Bluezone' event at PUBG Seongsu from Aug 11

Krafton will run a summer-themed event, "PUBG Seongsu Presents: Bluezone", at its offline brand space PUBG Seongsu from Aug. 11, it said on Sunday. The event reinterprets the Bluezone, a survival boundary in the game "Battlegrounds", as a space for rest and experiences. It will include a collaborative exhibition with the global art project The Jaunt and Busan cultural space Union Gallery, as well as live mural painting by overseas artists.
