Huawei Korea ran a global ICT training and field experience program for Korean university students.

Huawei Korea said on Sept. 2 it ran its global ICT talent development program "Seeds for the Future 2026" in Dongguan and Shenzhen in China from Aug. 23 to 30 last month.

A total of 9 students from South Korea took part, including 5 from Ajou University, 2 from Hanyang University and 2 from Yonsei University. Five students from Japan, from the University of Tokyo, Waseda University and Keio University, also joined.

Participants received training related to AI, 5G and digital power ICT, and visited Huawei research and development sites and technology exhibition spaces. They visited local high-tech companies and universities to examine the process of technology commercialisation and the industrial ecosystem, and took part in student exchange programs. At a roundtable on global technology issues, students from South Korea and Japan formed teams to share views.

Seeds for the Future is a global corporate social responsibility program Huawei started in 2008. To date, about 19,800 students have participated across 143 countries and regions and more than 500 universities and educational institutions.

Huawei Korea said it plans to continue working with South Korean universities to expand opportunities for Korean students to experience global ICT trends and to verify their capabilities on the international stage.
