Demand from small bitcoin investors has come close to its highest level in the past 2 years.

On Aug. 19, blockchain outlet Coinpost reported that on-chain analyst Darkfost said on X that demand from small investors is rising sharply.

A CryptoQuant chart cited by Darkfost shows the 30-day change rate in demand from small investors, classified as transfers of $0 to $10,000, has recently neared plus 10 percent. That is similar to August 2025, when bitcoin rose to around $123,000 near record-high levels.

The indicator shows how quickly small funds flow into the market. The latest rise stands out because it appears with an intensity similar to periods when bitcoin prices were near past peaks. Darkfost pointed out the trend is close to the highest level over the past 2 years.

The price trend is different from that time. The chart shows bitcoin fell after hitting about $123,000 in August 2025, and has recently moved in the $63,000 to $65,000 range. The core of the analysis is that demand from small investors has strengthened again even though prices are far below the previous peak.

Darkfost assessed the move as a signal that "impatience is spreading" among small investors. He explained that this group tends to react sensitively even to small price fluctuations in bitcoin.

The pattern did not appear only once in the chart. In August 2025 and several periods afterward, times when bitcoin formed a relative peak overlapped with times when demand from small investors surged. Darkfost saw inflows of small funds repeatedly aligning with price-peak zones.

The trend suggests the market's participant mix is shifting again. If buying strength from small investors stands out more than large funds, trading sensitive to short-term price swings could increase. However, the analysis focuses on the point that demand from small investors is rising quickly, and that its strength has climbed to levels similar to past peak zones.

As a result, a key point to watch is whether the expansion in demand from small investors leads to an actual price rebound, or whether it works as a relative peak signal as in the past. For now, it has been confirmed that the speed of small-investor fund inflows is again standing out in the bitcoin market.
