BlackRock Canada has launched two new ETFs, including one with a 3 percent bitcoin weighting.

Cointelegraph reported on Aug. 10 that the products introduced by BlackRock Canada are the iShares Equity+Bitcoin ETF Portfolio (IBQT) and the iShares Core MSCI All International Equity Index ETF (XINT), which began trading on the Toronto Stock Exchange.

IBQT combines globally diversified equities with bitcoin exposure. It allocates 97 percent of its portfolio to Canadian, U.S., international and emerging market equities, and invests 3 percent in bitcoin through BlackRock Canada’s iShares Bitcoin ETF (IBIT). Rather than holding individual stocks directly, it mainly includes other iShares ETFs to set the equity and bitcoin weightings.

XINT invests in markets excluding Canada and the United States, investing in more than 5,000 companies across more than 40 developed and emerging markets outside Canada and the United States.

Both products are managed by BlackRock Asset Management Canada through the RBC iShares partnership. BlackRock said that as of June 30, its iShares business manages about 6.2 trillion dollars of assets across more than 1,700 ETFs.

BlackRock’s U.S.-listed iShares Bitcoin Trust (IBIT) is the largest U.S. spot bitcoin ETF by assets under management. Assets under management stand at about 47.9 billion dollars, based on CoinMarketCap.
