Money flowed into bitcoin spot exchange-traded funds (ETFs) for a third straight trading session, pushing cumulative net inflows this month above $626 million.

Cointelegraph, a blockchain media outlet, reported on Aug. 6 local time that bitcoin spot ETFs posted $244.4 million in net inflows over the day.

The trend has continued since early August. Based on Sosovalue data, bitcoin spot ETFs recorded net inflows for three straight sessions, totalling $626 million. Looking only at short-term flows, buying interest has recovered since the start of the month.

Among individual products, BlackRock's iShares Bitcoin Trust ETF, known as IBIT, led the inflows. Based on Farside Investors data, IBIT attracted $479 million over the past three sessions, and cumulative net inflows neared $61 billion. This confirms that BlackRock products still account for a large share of overall bitcoin spot ETF flows.

The inflows coincided with bitcoin price moves. Bitcoin briefly rose above $64,920, and is currently trading around $64,300, down 0.43 percent over 24 hours.

Market sentiment has not fully recovered. The Crypto Fear & Greed Index, which shows sentiment for bitcoin and major cryptocurrencies, fell to 25 from 27 a day earlier and remained in the "Extreme Fear" zone.

On the same day, flows for spot ethereum ETFs and spot XRP ETFs diverged. Spot ethereum ETFs recorded $60.9 million in net inflows, marking a second straight session of inflows. Net inflows over the past two sessions rose to $114.6 million, while spot XRP ETFs posted $3.58 million in net outflows. That reduced total net assets to $993.4 million.

The flows show clear differences in investor preferences even within the cryptocurrency ETF market. Bitcoin spot ETFs attracted funds during a price rebound, and spot ethereum ETFs also extended inflows. Spot XRP ETFs, however, switched to outflows on the same day, underscoring that investor demand is not uniform.

Against that backdrop, the market's next focus is whether inflows into bitcoin spot ETFs will continue. With bitcoin holding around $64,000 and sentiment indicators still in the "Extreme Fear" zone, the figures show that inflows and market sentiment are not yet moving in the same direction.
