Cross Protocol has integrated its system with global crypto payment gateway Alchemy Pay to build a payment environment that allows users to buy tokens with fiat currency without going through a cryptocurrency exchange.
Nexth said on June 22 that the integration has added an on-ramp function to the Cross Protocol ecosystem, allowing users to pay for crypto with fiat and receive it in their wallets. This enables users worldwide to trade the native token CROSS ($CROSS) directly in the integrated wallet Crossx without complicated exchange sign-ups or asset transfer procedures.
Alchemy Pay will handle the payment and know-your-customer procedures for the on-ramp. Fiat currencies supported for payments include the U.S. dollar, euro, Singapore dollar and Hong Kong dollar. Once payment is completed, tokens on the Cross mainnet are issued immediately to the user's wallet.
Alchemy Pay is a global payments infrastructure company that supports conversion between crypto assets and local currencies through card payments, Apple Pay, Google Pay and bank transfers in more than 170 countries worldwide.
The partnership is expected to significantly lower barriers to entry into the Cross ecosystem. Users unfamiliar with crypto will be able to acquire tokens easily using traditional payment methods such as credit cards, broadening the onboarding base for users worldwide.
Jang Hyun-kuk (장현국), CEO of Nexth, said, "The top priority for popularising blockchain is to break down the barriers to entry that users feel." He said the Alchemy Pay integration will create entry routes using traditional payment methods and expand user convenience-focused infrastructure, strengthening the competitiveness of the Cross platform.
Cross, the mainnet for an on-chain game platform, plans to change its name to One Chain, while the native token CROSS will be renamed One.
