NH Nonghyup Bank carried out social contribution activities for national merit honorees and veterans’ families to mark the month of remembrance.

NH Nonghyup Bank said on June 18 it donated 1 ton of Korean rice with Hecto Financial to the Jung-gu Patriots and Veterans Hall in Seoul on June 17 and held a sharing event for national merit honorees and veterans’ families.

About 30 volunteers, including NH Nonghyup Bank President Kang Tae-young (강태영) and Hecto Group Chairman Lee Kyung-min (이경민), took part in the event.

The volunteers served summer health foods they prepared themselves, including abalone samgyetang and mung bean rice, to national merit honorees and veterans’ families.

NH Nonghyup Bank also held an event that day for national merit honorees to sign up for voice phishing compensation insurance for free, providing guidance on preventing financial fraud and support for compensation.

NH Nonghyup Bank is supporting free enrolment in voice phishing compensation insurance for 1,000,000 people nationwide aged 60 and older to protect groups vulnerable to financial fraud.

Kang said, "We will reflect on the meaning of remembrance and continue sustainable social contribution activities together with local communities," adding, "Through various sharing activities, we will fulfil our role as a national bank that puts social responsibility into practice with the spirit of 'Dongsim Hyophyeok (同心協力)."
