Korea Creative Content Agency is moving to speed up the global expansion of K-content and strengthen the industry ecosystem under new President Kim Yun-ji (김윤지). The agency expects strategic support for the content industry to gain momentum with the inauguration of a president with expertise in the export economy.

Korea Creative Content Agency said Kim, its 6th president, held an inauguration ceremony on June 15 at its headquarters in Naju, South Jeolla Province, and began work. Her term runs for 3 years, until June 11, 2029.

Kim is regarded as a content industry expert who has conducted research and provided government policy advice, including studies on the economic effects of K-content exports and measures to build financial infrastructure to support content companies' global expansion, while working as a senior researcher at the Overseas Economic Research Institute of the Export-Import Bank of Korea.

In her inaugural address, Kim stressed that K-content is a key export asset for South Korea and a future growth engine. She set out key roles: expanding functions to create new value for content intellectual property, strategically supporting the content industry from the perspective of export economic policy, building an industry foundation for creators and companies to grow, and taking proactive steps on advanced technologies including artificial intelligence.

After the ceremony, Kim reviewed business progress by department with staff and signalled her intent to make communication with the field her top priority. She plans to actively listen to voices from content sectors including broadcasting, games, music, animation, comics and webtoons, as well as related organisations and regional hub institutions.

Kim said, "K-content is an important export asset for South Korea and a future growth engine." She added, "I will work to firmly establish the agency as a specialised institution that leads the global spread and sustainable growth of K-culture beyond the global success of K-content."

She said, "I will listen to voices on the ground and expand support so creators and companies can grow." She added that she will do her best so K-content can lead to K-culture experiences in the daily lives of people around the world and also contribute to South Korea's economic growth.
