[Taipei, Taiwan=DigitalToday reporter Hyunwoo Choo] Global storage company Synology took part in Computex 2026, held at the Taipei Nangang Exhibition Center from June 2 to 5, and rolled out a full lineup of new products including data storage, protection and AI solutions.

The most eye-catching new products at the event are the XS+/XS series and FS series, high-performance enterprise storage products. The XS+/XS series provides up to 6,700MB/s sequential read and 4,300MB/s sequential write performance, and supports more than 1.5PB of raw capacity at maximum expansion. It also offers an option to install GPU cards, with AI workload processing in mind. The FS series, an all-flash storage line, is an all-flash enterprise storage product delivering 990K+ IOPS in 4K random read and 270K+ IOPS in write, and supports 100/50/25GbE connectivity. Both products support GPU card options and are optimized for enterprise environments that require high-performance computing.

■ Ultra-fast, ultra-high capacity... enterprise storage upgraded across the board

The new PAS series product PAS7700 is an active-active all-flash NVMe storage system that achieved 2 million+ IOPS in 4K random read, 30GB/s in 64K sequential read and latency of less than 1ms. Its raw capacity reaches 1.6PB at maximum expansion. It adopts an active-active architecture in which two nodes handle reads and writes simultaneously, ensuring high availability without a single point of failure (SPOF).

The scalable object and file storage GS3400 supports 70GB/s sequential read and a maximum raw capacity of 13.8PB based on 48 nodes, and integrates support for the SMB, NFS and S3 protocols. Its release timing will be announced later.

Storage efficiency features were also strengthened. Synology newly introduced "Synology Tiering" at the event. It is designed to automatically move infrequently used data to a low-cost cold tier, allowing high-performance storage resources to be concentrated on core workloads. It also added new data reduction technology that uses deduplication and compression simultaneously or selectively. The function is supported only on Synology-branded HDDs and SSDs.

■ AI agents embedded in DSM... automated management through security and backup

AI solution expansion stands out most of all in software and usability. Under the slogan "AI Ready Platform," Synology unveiled its Synology AI solutions featuring AI-based content generation, search and workflow automation functions.

The content generation function supports cloud-based LLM integration or self-hosted LLMs while automatically masking sensitive data. AI search can retrieve unstructured data using natural language, and the natural language-based NAS workflow automation function via an MCP server is slated for sequential release.

The "DSM Agent," available on models that support GPU cards, provides integrated functions in a single interface, including security incident investigation, backup process verification and everyday workflow simplification. In DSM Agent version 1.0, it provides various AI assistance functions and helps with efficient troubleshooting, while the next-generation version 2.0 will provide a fully AI agent-based platform, Synology explained.

■ From ransomware response to home cameras... broader protection across the board

In data protection, support was added for new platforms including Azure, AWS, Google Workspace and Nutanix. New 1U and 2U rackmount models of the ActiveProtect appliance were also unveiled.

In video security surveillance, it is also showcasing new Deep Video Analytics (DVA) products DVA7400 and DVA3000, and a new camera lineup comprising the FC600 360-degree fisheye camera, DC400 4MP dome camera, and DC500Z/DC800 5MP and 8MP dome cameras. For its home lineup, it also launched the BeeStation Plus 4TB and the BeeCamera, equipped with AI-based detection for people, pets and vehicles.

The Synology booth will operate throughout the event from 9:30 a.m. to 5:30 p.m. at booth J0102 in Tainex 1 Hall at the Computex venue. At 11 a.m. on June 4, Synology managing director Mike Chen (마이크 첸) is scheduled to deliver a keynote on the importance of digital sovereignty.
