[DigitalToday reporter Sangyeob Oh] KB Securities donated 100 million won in support funding to the National Center for the Rights of the Child and local counseling agencies nationwide to help women with crisis pregnancies have stable childbirths and become self-reliant.
KB Securities said on May 29 it delivered 100 million won in support funding to the National Center for the Rights of the Child and 17 local counseling agencies nationwide to help women with crisis pregnancies have stable childbirths and become self-reliant.
Women with crisis pregnancies refers to pregnant women who face difficulties with childbirth and child-rearing due to economic or physical hardship, unexpected pregnancy or social prejudice.
To create a safe environment for their childbirths and protect children who are born, the Crisis Pregnancy Protected Childbirth Act has been in force since July 2024.
The funding is set to be used for emergency living support costs such as livelihood, housing and medical expenses that may arise during counseling for women with crisis pregnancies, as well as childcare and care costs after birth.
CEO Jin-doo Kang (강진두) said, "I hope this support will serve as encouragement to women with crisis pregnancies who have decided on childbirth and child-rearing." He said, "We will continue social contribution activities that can fill blind spots in welfare."
