Telechips returned to profit after posting its biggest quarterly revenue since its founding in the first quarter of 2026. Automotive semiconductor design company Telechips said on May 7 it posted first-quarter revenue of 66.0 billion won and operating profit of 6.12 billion won. Revenue rose 46.2 percent from a year earlier, and operating profit swung to black.

Revenue was the highest since the company was founded. It also rose 24.6 percent from the previous quarter's 53.0 billion won. The company set a record for quarterly revenue for a second consecutive quarter.

Operating profit swung to 6.12 billion won from an operating loss of 2.6 billion won a year earlier. It rose 128.1 percent from the previous quarter's 2.68 billion won. Net profit also improved. It turned to a net profit of 944 million won this quarter from a net loss of 3.48 billion won a year earlier and a net loss of 50.82 billion won in the previous quarter.

The direct cause of the earnings rebound was an expansion in revenue from system-on-chip, or SoC, development services. Development service revenue, which began to be reflected from the fourth quarter of last year, gained full traction in this quarter. Synergies with its existing products business also contributed to stabilising its earnings structure, the company said.

A Telechips official said, "SoC development service revenue, which began to be reflected from the fourth quarter of last year, expanded in earnest, driving earnings growth, and synergies with the existing products business also stabilised the earnings structure, leading to a sharp improvement in profitability."

The official added, "In 2026, we plan to further strengthen growth momentum by reinforcing our global customer base and expanding eco partnerships," and "We will continue to improve our business structure to secure profitability and growth at the same time."
