A commemorative stamp featuring global artist Blackpink will be released.
Korea Post, an agency under the Ministry of Science and ICT, said on May 7 it will issue 10 types of Blackpink commemorative stamps on June 16. It will also sell a commemorative stamp packet. The packet will include stamps and portraits of Blackpink.
Since debuting in August 2016, Blackpink has topped major global music charts with a string of hit songs. Its second full-length album also became the first K-pop girl group release to achieve double-million-seller status. The group has also left a landmark mark in K-pop history, including delivering a speech as a promoter ambassador for the United Nations Sustainable Development Goals.
The commemorative stamps will be available from June 16 at main post offices nationwide and the internet post office. The price is 8,800 won for a set of 10 stamps, and 25,000 won for the stamp packet.
Pre-sales will also begin at 7 p.m. on May 12. In South Korea, they will be offered to customers registered as members of the internet post office. Overseas buyers can use YG's global official store, YG SELECT, via its English, Japanese and Chinese sites. Purchases will also be available through Korea Post’s overseas stamp sales mall. Pre-sales will end at midnight on May 15 both domestically and overseas.
Korea Post head In-hwan Park (박인환) said, "I find it very meaningful to issue commemorative stamps of Blackpink, which is promoting K-pop around the world." He added, "Korea Post will continue working to create meaningful commemorative stamps at the national level."
