[DigitalToday reporter Hyunwoo Choo (추현우)] The Solana Foundation unveiled Pay.sh, a service for AI agents that allows payments for key Google Cloud APIs using stablecoins. On May 7 (local time), fintech outlet Finextra reported the service is designed so on-chain AI agents can handle everything from API discovery to payment without human-led account management procedures.

Pay.sh was presented as an integrated orchestration layer and marketplace for commerce between agents and APIs. Industry-standard APIs are typically placed behind human-controlled processes such as know-your-customer checks, account management and subscription management, but Pay.sh reduced that structure so agents can access APIs directly.

Integrations include Google Cloud's Gemini, BigQuery and Vertex AI. On-chain AI agents can identify API endpoints in the integrated marketplace, receive real-time pricing and pay usage fees immediately using their Solana balances.

Users can add funds using stablecoins or credit cards. Pay.sh handles payment settlement and gateway authentication on behalf of agents, and it also applies rate limits, quotas and access controls. This means agents do not need to hold separate Google accounts or continuously rotate credentials.
