Mobility platform Whistle said on Tuesday it has introduced a parking and stopping enforcement alert service in Seongju county, North Gyeongsang province, expanding the areas where the service is available. Drivers who register vehicle information in the Whistle app can receive advance notices without additional settings when entering enforcement zones in partner local governments.
Whistle is a service that provides alerts to drivers before parking and stopping enforcement begins, encouraging them to move their vehicles. The same alerts apply across partner local governments nationwide, allowing drivers to prevent fines in advance even in unfamiliar areas. The number of parking and stopping enforcement alerts sent through Whistle last year reached about 7,608,000.
Seongju is an area with a high vehicle registration ratio relative to its population, and demand for local traffic management is large. Known as the "home of chamoe," it sees both agricultural distribution and tourism demand, leading to a steady inflow of visiting vehicles by season. The "2026 Seongju Chamoe & Life Culture Festival" is scheduled to be held in and around Seongbaksup from May 14 to 17, and the service was introduced to prepare for higher traffic demand during the festival period.
With the introduction of the service, drivers in the area can receive advance notices when entering enforcement zones, reducing unnecessary fines and enabling more efficient vehicle management. Vehicles entering from outside, including those visiting the festival, can also receive the same benefit by registering in the app, and an effect in easing traffic congestion is also expected.
A Whistle official said, "In areas like Seongju, where the share of local traffic is high, we expect services based on advance notices to be highly effective." The official added, "We will continue to expand the service to various regions to create a mobility environment that more drivers can feel in their daily lives."
