Krafton's creative studio Unknown Worlds will release the official sequel to the ocean survival series 'Subnautica' next month.
On May 1, Krafton-owned Unknown Worlds confirmed the early-access release date for 'Subnautica 2' as May 15 at 0000 and announced its pricing policy. The sales price for the South Korean market was set at 33,700 won.
Unknown Worlds also released a new cinematic trailer through major social media channels, including its official YouTube channel, along with confirming the release date. The trailer includes a new underwater vehicle and newly revealed tools, and presents a narrative sequence in which teammates are threatened by alien life during an expedition.
'Subnautica 2' is set on a new alien planet that differs from the previous installment and applies Unreal Engine 5-based graphics. It introduces a co-op mode for up to 4 players for the first time in the series. It has maintained the No. 1 spot on the Steam wishlist from September 2025 to the present.
Unknown Worlds CEO Ted Gill (테드 길) said, "On May 15, we are very happy to finally be able to present 'Subnautica 2' to players around the world." He added, "All of the developers are sincerely looking forward to completing the game together based on users' feedback during the early-access period."
Krafton head of publishing Jinhyung Lee (이진형) said, "The ocean survival experience shown by the Subnautica series has been expanded one step further in the new title through the co-op mode and a new alien planet."
