[Digital Today reporter Dae-gun Seok] Samsung Electronics said on Tuesday it launched a new premium induction cooktop with a built-in hood. It is an Infinite Line product that embeds a hood in the centre of the induction unit, enabling it to remove smoke and odours generated during cooking without a separate ceiling hood, while also allowing an open-style kitchen interior with a sense of openness.

Air purification is handled through a four-stage filter structure. The grill filter blocks large debris, and the tray filter catches overflowed broth and oil. The grease filter adsorbs oil droplets to prevent them from spreading in the air, and the deodorising filter removes odours. The grill, tray and grease filters can be removed and washed with water or in a dishwasher. The deodorising filter is replaced, has a standard lifespan of 360 hours, and is recommended to be replaced at least every six months.

When Smart Mode is activated, the hood automatically runs as cooking begins. An air-quality sensor detects total volatile organic compounds (TVOC) generated during cooking processes such as stews and grilling and automatically adjusts suction power. After cooking ends, the After Run function operates, running the hood fan at low speed to remove residual smoke and odours and dry moisture inside the filter.

For cooking performance, it supports up to 7,400W when all burners are used simultaneously. An All Flex Zone is mounted on the left and right sides of the induction cooktop to deliver heat evenly without dead zones. The company explained that it can cook evenly regardless of the size and shape of cookware, from small pans to rectangular grill pans and large hot-pot pots. Power is subdivided into levels 1 to 9 and a boost stage, and it also supports a keep-warm function. It has an energy consumption efficiency grade 1 rating.

The cooktop surface applies a matte-coated Infinite Glass. Food stains and fingerprints do not remain easily, and the material corresponds to Mohs hardness level 8, making it resistant to scratches and discolouration. For ventilation, users can choose between a front-exhaust method that vents through a duct inside the lower cabinet and a plug-and-play method installed without a duct. It is 출시 in a single satin black colour, and is priced at 4.79 million won, or 4.989 million won including a duct.

It also received a regulatory demonstration special exemption from the Ministry of Trade, Industry and Energy through the regulatory sandbox system, making it the only product in South Korea to which a deferral of the obligation to install an automatic diffusion fire extinguisher applies. The validity period is 2 years from the product launch date and can be extended once.

Jong-seung Moon (문종승), a vice president in Samsung Electronics' DA Business Division, said, "This new hood-integrated induction product is a product that has captured both interior completeness and cooking convenience," adding, "We will continue to expand our home appliance lineup so that consumers can be satisfied, based on premium design and innovative technology."
